opinions on global idols/non asian idols

I wanted to know what peoples opinions on global/non asian idols is since the only serious examples we have are katseye and vcha/girlset or even blackswan so its hard to see what people really think. xg and &team are also technically global groups but not quite the same

im 20 and and white and always wanted to be an artist but never felt connected to the music industry in america despite loving music my whole life and let it stay in the back of my head out of fear. but getting back into kpop after many years and getting really invested in the industry and learning about companies and trainees and watching survival shows and hours and hours of content. i really came to appreciate all of the unique things that the kpop industry brings that you cant find in the west. in america people think you are born with talent or youre not and anyone who wasnt will never be exceptional enough. in korea, the whole system is built around strictly training and refining for years to be where they are, every trainee is seen as incomplete with room to improve. where in the west artists dont get lenience like that (specifically with fans and the general public). youre expected to be “discovered” or exceptional from the start which isnt me. as well as the fact i dont want to be solo, and groups dont exist like that anymore in the us. but, i dont want to be korean or a kpop idol at all. i truly just want to be an idol more than anything and no other title feels like it fits for me. people jump straight to koreaboo accusations and “just make music in your country”. i love the entire job description of being an IDOL specifically, hardships and all. idols dont exist as a concept in the us
