Miniso, a household goods store known as “the Chinese version of Daiso”, has re-entered South Korea after three years.

According to the retail industry on Tuesday, Miniso opened a store in Hyehwa-dong, Seoul, on December 14.

China-based Miniso is a global household goods store with more than 6,000 stores in 100 countries.

It was listed on the New York and Hong Kong exchanges after growing its business by benchmarking with Japan’s Daiso.

In 2016, Miniso entered South Korea and operated more than 70 offline stores, but withdrew in 2021 due to poor business.

At the Hyehwa-dong store, most of the merchandise utilizes global content intellectual properties (IPs) such as Harry Potter and Disney.

Prices range from 8,000 to 20,000 won, half the price of official merchandise sold at Universal Studios and Disneyland.
