New-gen K-pop fans and the habit of glazing idols…

I just came across a TikTok video of BM Ahyeon singing Golden at MAMA, and honestly, the performance didn’t sound great to me. It felt like she was pushing her voice too hard and leaning more into shouting than actual singing.

What really surprised me was the amount of comments praising the performance, insisting she sounded amazing and that the high note was well done. I get that everyone hears things differently, but it feels like some new-gen K-pop fans are so busy glazing their idols that they can’t acknowledge differing opinions at all.

Pre-debut, I genuinely liked Ahyeon’s vocals, her tone was nice and her high notes were decent. But after debut, it feels like her singing has gone a bit downhill. I’m not saying this to hate; I actually think she has potential and just needs better vocal support or technique.

I just wish fans would stop overhyping everything and be open to hearing honest opinions without immediately getting defensive.
