Speaking frankly, I don’t know what their critics want at this point. I understand that the controversial live broadcast could be criticized—after all, it already received massive backlash at the time, even leading to death threats and a concert cancellation—but I honestly don’t know what more they expect from KIOF now. KIOF has already apologized multiple times and is now focusing on their activities in Korea and Japan, and most people have already formed their judgments and moved on.
Yet I don’t understand why some critics continue to relentlessly attack them, bringing up past incidents and claiming that K-pop fans’ criticism of KIOF hasn’t been enough. Honestly, even the so-called ‘Knetz’—who are often generalized as extremely harsh—don’t usually attack a single issue with this level of intensity.
To be frank, KIOF is pursuing the markets that suit them, and it’s unlikely that their critics will even encounter them directly. Isn’t it about time that both sides just go their separate ways?
