Multilingual in Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, English and more… what can I do for a living?

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the US and want to relocate back to Asia. But I am struggling to figure out what kind of jobs I could get…

A little bit about me, I graduated from a state flagship university in a lesser-known state in the US. I grew up in Asia and still have family there. I’m fluent in Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and I can understand bits of Japanese, French, Spanish, and Turkish. I do think I have somewhat of a natural talent in picking up languages.

My work experience includes roles in public health and higher education within the government. I would say the nature of my work has been mostly compliance related… but I also have some random bioinformatics & immigration law experience, and I actually wanted to go into law initially.

I’m looking to relocate back to Asia but am struggling to find job opportunities that match my skills. I’m passionate about cultural exchange and participated in all the multicultural activities in school. I love Korean culture and I consume Korean media as my main form of entertainment. I also love literature, art but also enjoy more serious subjects like public health and law. My interests are so broad I don’t know what career paths are available for a polyglot like me, where my language skills could come in handy. In my government jobs, I never had to use my language skills except in the few rare occasions enforcing health violations or speaking to patients who are korean/chinese speaking

With my broad interests and language skills, I’m curious about potential career paths. What kinds of jobs could utilize my multilingual abilities and experiences?

Sorry this is a bit of a long rant. I am just really lost and feel stuck in the US. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
