I feel like ever since survivals shows blew up, the emphasis on centers in kpop has like exploded as well.
And like I get there being a member that is popular or that is well known being showcased in the group, but when it’s the same member constantly being in the middle no matter if it’s a photoshoot, airport photos, or heck even in the center choreo for majority of the songs…it gets to a point.
If you’re going to showcase a member in this manner and forcefully push them down the fans’ throats, what was the point of even debuting them in a group? This idol could’ve debuted solo and they’d still experience the same perks. It honestly makes the other members seem like extras in the center’s show. And tbh that’s not fair for the other members.
I feel like each member should get fair moments to shine. Not saying everything has to be equal ALL the time because some members do fit the center over others when it can come to those things I listed above. But there definitely has to be some grace given to the members who are treated as extras.
Has anyone else shared my thoughts?
