Maternity benefits for a self-employed foreigner

Hi all! My husband and I are hoping to start a family soon, but we’re trying to figure out some logistics first.

I am on an F6 visa (married to a Korean) and I work full-time as an independent contractor for a company based outside of Korea. Because I am not considered an employee contractually, I’m assuming that my company will not provide any maternity benefits but that they will be fine with me taking some time off (unpaid) after giving birth.

Is there any support the Korean government provides for self-employed woman who are pregnant? I’m just beginning to research this so I’d appreciate any info/resources about maternity benefits in Korea. Thanks!
