topic inspired by this post i saw on a pop music forum
but it made me think of itzy
ik sneakers was a massive hit in korea but it is part of the reason their international fanbase abandoned. they have yet to recover. even tho it was a hit in korea, they havent had a hit since and their international streaming numbers went down massively (loco released before sneakers: 293 mil streams => songs after sneakers: chesire – 116 mil, cake – 92 mil, untouchable – 65 mil, gold – 21 mil… just decline but tbf their newest song is doing decent 11 mil streams in a month)
was wondering if there have been other groups where a hit tore them apart… mb the 5050 mess but then again that was one of the biggest kpop hits ever.
mb bts english stuff cuz it lead them to put out average english stuff instead of prioritizing the korean
i was going to say BP ddu-du ddu-du which led them to recreate the same multiple times but tbf i like all versions even the 2.0/3.0s
