Even in a chart battle dominated by Taylor Swift, K-pop refuses to fade from the spotlight. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack has locked in its place at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 for five weeks running — a rare feat for an animated film album.
Billboard noted in its preview article that “the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack remained unmoved on this week’s tally,” confirming its steady chart performance.
Holding the top spot for the same five-week stretch was Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl, which continues its reign at No. 1.
The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack had previously climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last month—its second time achieving the feat—before yielding the crown to Swift’s latest record and maintaining a solid grip on the runner-up position ever since.
The Billboard 200 ranks albums based on a composite metric called album units, which combines traditional album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA)—digital downloads converted into album sales.
During the latest tracking week, the KPop Demon Hunters OST recorded approximately 84,000 album units, down less than 1% from the previous week.
The soundtrack continues to build awards-season momentum, securing five Grammy nominations for the upcoming 68th Annual Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for its breakout hit “Golden.”
