Korean toast shop makes $30K/month in NYC — would this work in Seoul, or is the market too saturated?

I recently came across a story of a woman in New York who started a Korean toast stand — she paid a full year’s rent up front to secure the location.

Surprisingly, her shop now makes over 40 million KRW (about $30K) a month, mostly by serving Korean-style breakfast toast to locals and tourists.

It made me wonder: would something like this work in Seoul?

Korean toast is already a pretty common street food here, so the competition would probably be much tougher — and the margins tighter, too.

But the story got me thinking about how location, presentation, and even the “K-brand” abroad can really impact success.

Just sharing for discussion — would love to hear what others think about food stand culture here vs overseas, or any examples of small business success stories in Korea.

(The video is in Korean and doesn’t have English subtitles — just FYI.)
