I’m a foreigner who has watched a lot of historical k-drama. There are a lot of dramas having king Taejong as the lead character. The problem is that, in each movie, his “true love” is a different woman: a woman he knew before his father turned king, a woman he knows when he was in Sungkyunkwan, a woman he knew after his father turned king, a woman he married, a woman who’s his concubine, etc. Now I don’t really need to know which woman he truly loved. I’m just really curious who was his lovers/ex(es) cause sometimes the script is just based on his story and sometimes its stick closely to the history. What is consistent in all dramas is that he is a multidimensional character who can kill a lot of people in order to make Joseon a better country but that’s another story.
I don’t know korean and the only source of Yi Bang Won’s life I could find is Wikipedia, which I don’t really trust. Anyway, I would like to know the real story of him, even the not related to his love interest.
