The reason Katseye is popular today is because of their personalities, social media following, live stage presence, and of course talent. As we saw on Dream Academy, there is significant vocal talent in members such as Lara and Sophia, and all of them have incredible presence.
So WHY do they all sound the same on every song and WHY does every song sound like a trending TikTok theme instead of actual melodic hits?
Strong songs have been given to NewJeans, Le Sserafim, BTS etc… and yet other than “Touch” and possibly “Gnarly” (as a one off), it feels like very little thought has been given to the woman.
Even their latest song “Internet Girl” while catchy, is just simply the same 3 notes over and over again. Most of their songs at this point could just be talk-sung which is odd given their vocal talent.
I simply do not understand. IF they were ever given a song. (in English obviously) like Ditto, Smart, Perfect Night etc.. they could. REALLY take that next step. And the frustrating piece of it is that they do have that talent level to do so.
A good first step is the Grammy nom, and if they are already in the Grammy circles good graces, they NEED to be given A level material.. at least one song. Come on Hybe! What is going on?
