The brand and image re-branding that GIRLSET (formerly VCHA) did was one of JYP Ent’s most precise decisions. in recent times.
I know that their recent past with the VCHA and especially with former member KG is not one of the best and I definitely don’t ignore JYP about all the bad treatment they gave to KG and the other members of the group, we know well that they don’t know how to efficiently manage their girl groups.
However, we cannot deny that the group members adapted much better and combined much more with this more mature concept inspired by Pop Y2K than with VCHA’s previous concept, but logically the old concept made much more sense with the group’s Identity since we had underage members.
I saw many people accusing JYP of having copied KATSEYE for this new look of the group, on the grounds that they saw that this type of concept is more profitable. I personally think that no one copied the other, because the two groups have essentially very similar proposals, precisely because they are two global K-Pop company groups, but I don’t think it’s a copy because KATSEYE is not the only musical act on the scene that is releasing this type of music. I believe that because they were formed with the same purpose, comparison between the groups is inevitable.
I’m very excited for this new phase for the girls and the group and I believe that they will shine even more from here onwards. I also hope that KG and Kaylee will do very well in their solo careers if they wish.
These girls are extremely talented and hard-working, they deserve all the acclaim in the world.
