JYP Entertainment has seen a significant increase in its share value following the announcement of strong second-quarter results. As of October 14 at 9:13 A.M., JYP Entertainment shares were trading at 80,700 won, reflecting a rise of 6.61% from the previous day.

The company reported preliminary figures indicating second-quarter revenue of 215.8 billion won and an operating profit of 52.9 billion won, marking increases of 125.5% and 466.3%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

JYP Entertainment stated, “We achieved record quarterly results thanks to major global tours by our leading artists and the expansion of our management revenue.” They added, “Despite the impact of re-signing our main artists, we attained record sales and enhanced profitability.”

Notably, the boy group Stray Kids played a significant role in this success with concerts in South America, Japan, and North America. Additionally, DAY6 contributed to the revenue, which reached 62 billion ₩ increase of 342.3% compared to the same period last year.

Lee Kihoon, an analyst at Hana Securities, remarked, “Stray Kids’ world tour and the recovery of profitability led to unexpected results in the second quarter of this year.” He further noted that “these surprising outcomes were facilitated by the successful Stray Kids and Tamagotchi projects, as well as merchandise from the dominATE tour, TWICE and Sanrio’s pop-up stores in Japan contributed to a record merchandise revenue of 66.9 billion won.”
