Just realized 마지노선 is literally means ‘Maginot Line’.

The word 마지노선 is just so deeply engrained into the Korean vocabulary and used casually in daily life that I didn’t realize until now that it comes from the French Maginot Line. Just a fun tidbit i guess, but I do wonder how such a random word from a country that barely interacts with Korea and also has no historical significance to Korea came to be used so often.
