It seems like SSE is taking a different route with KiiiKiii than Ive.

Although KiiiKiii hasn’t “debuted” yet, I can envision the promotion/release method Starship is going with. I want to preface this by saying that I’ve began being a dive (or kpop fan in general) in 2022, with vague info about SSE and their treatment of previous groups.

But, putting that aside, I find it interesting how prior to Ive’s debut, SSE didn’t bother (understandably so) with before-debut promotion and pre-releases. Ive had a huge factor Kiiikii didn’t, which is the debut of Wonyoung and Yujin, people wanted them to re-debut already so SSE didn’t need to do anything else but release a solid debut and a solid first comeback to secure a new fanbase.

With KiiiKiii, however, they need to take every step to get up their game before debuting, and I think SSE already succeeded with the first step (choosing the members). The girls have such distinguishable visuals from what expected from 4th/5th gen, especially Jiyu, their voices too are very distinctive and not similar which makes listening to “I do me” very easy. Generally, I feel like SSE is going with “drop feeding method” with those girls and I’m already curious about the music they’ll release later and whether they’ll ever have a drastic concept change, I do have a feeling KiiiKiii will get to have their first album release earlier than Ive did, but what are you thoughts?
