I feel like K-pop concepts have become much more diverse over the years

One thing I’ve noticed while following K-pop for a while is how much concepts seem to have diversified compared to earlier generations.

In the past, it felt like many groups followed similar trends at the same time — for example the “cute concept” era or the heavy EDM era. But recently it feels like groups are experimenting a lot more with different aesthetics, storytelling styles, and musical directions.

Some comebacks feel very cinematic, others lean more into experimental visuals, and some focus heavily on performance or choreography.

Maybe this is partly because the industry has become more global and competitive.

I’m curious how other fans see it — do you think K-pop concepts have become more diverse over time, or do you feel trends are still pretty cyclical?
