I feel like “All 5th Gen idols look the same”/Other variants are just devolving into racism.

Firstly, I know race-related topics are banned, mods, but I wasn’t sure if this type of thought that was included within that. If it is, I’m sorry about that!

But I’ve seen a lot of people saying things like that recently, particularly about 5th generation idols.

But to me, it feels like thinly veiled racism/ ignorance, even if it’s “unintentional”. It’s like it’s coming full circle back to the “All Asians look the same” rhetoric.

I don’t know — I know people will say that plastic surgery is rampant in the industry, and that’s why these comments are being made, but PS is rampant in almost every entertainment industry globally, and yet nobody is making these “they all look the same” comments about tiktokers or influencers (that I’ve seen, and if they are making these comments, not to the same extent…)

Like if you seriously look at the members of these groups, they don’t really look the same. Sometimes the only similarity is that they all have dark hair, lol.

I don’t know, but whenever I see people say “All idols look the same” these days or whatever it might be, it does make me raise an eyebrow. Just rather questionable to me.

What do you guys think? It can’t be just me, right?

Edit: Fixed a sentence or two.
