Hey everyone, I wanted to share my journey as a fan of Stray Kids and see if anyone else has gone through something similar.
I became a die-hard SKZ fan right before their Maxident era after hearing God’s Menu, the song was so good I had to check out the group, since back then I only really knew BTS and BP. I really liked the members’ personalities, chemistry, and checked out their discography. I loved the album No Easy and thought Oddinary was okay.
When Maxident was announced, I was so hyped! But after the release, their title track was a big disappointment to me. I did like some of the B-sides, especially taste and 3racha. Still, I stayed a hardcore stan and eagerly awaited their next comeback.
I was obsessed with their achievements and streamed nonstop to help them break records. When 5STAR was announced, I was so excited about their record-breaking pre-orders! But honestly, once the album dropped, S-Class felt like one of the worst title tracks I’d heard, mainly because of the chorus. The competition was extremely fierce at that time and literally almost every kpop release was doing well since it was a peak era for kpop and I know many stays wanted to support, so I kept streaming playlists even though I wasn’t really feeling it.
I wondered why they couldn’t make songs like Bite Me by enha, which I absolutely loved. Not to mention, I loved the pre chorus of S-Class but the rest was really bad.
Their next albums, Rock-Star and ATE, were okay to me, but slowly my love for them faded. I stopped streaming obsessively and started just casually listening to their releases. Eventually, I stopped voting, watching content, or fangirling over them, going from hardcore stan to someone who doesn’t really like their music much anymore.
Now, I only check their title tracks and don’t have a single song from them on my playlists. Has anyone else gone through this kind of shift with a group they once loved?
