Hello, I have a question to ask. I’m currently living in Seoul and I was brought to Korea to help with my organization and taking care of our temple here. The members here give me an allowance per month for food and daily necessities. We don’t have a lot of members in Seoul and only two people show up weekly to the temple sometimes even one. The problem is the member who gave the allowance is now no longer living in Seoul and moved to Jeonju. So the members have requested I open a bank account. The problem is I heard it’s very hard to open a bank account here on a tourist visa. Chatgpt did tell me though it is possible and in some cases people are even able to get a debit card. I would love to open a bank account where I could get a debit Visa card because sometimes I need to buy things online for example my charging wire broke so I tried to buy a new one on Coupang but my overseas Visa card didn’t work. When I lived in Taiwan there was one bank that allowed tourists to open a bank account and they even gave a debit visa so you could withdraw money and do online purchases. Does anyone know where I can open a bank account here with just a tourist visa and also get a debit card?
