Summer in Daegu is no joke, and it’s only June. After walking around Dongseongno for an hour or so this afternoon, I was ready to go home, sweaty and gross. I was feeling lazy and thought I’d have some kimchi ramyeon for lunch, but I was led astray by the idea of a sweet frozen treat from a shop near my building. It’s an unmanned (무인) shop that mainly sells ice cream and popsicles, and the selection is huge. I took photos to share here in case anyone’s not as lucky as I am to have one of this places a short walk away. 😉 Most of these single-serving items are about 1,200 won each, or about $0.80 USD these days, and some are less. I was disappointed to find that they don’t have the cheese-flavored ice cream sandwiches anymore, but then I remembered they’re intensely sweet cheese-flavored ice cream. submitted by /u/whereisdaegu |
