I missed this. Quite funny/cringe. The linked article actually underplays it a bit – “appears” isn’t quite right.
What happened is this:
the upcoming 2026 Kdrama “The Remarried Empress” based on a webtoon of the same name (in the Kdrama the female lead, the empress, is played by Shin Min-a) is a royal fantasy romance in which each character has vaguely silly made up faux European names (the prince is called “Heinry” instead of Henry e.g.). Here some stills.
Filming took place primarily in the Czech Republic and costumes and props were also rented from there.
They chose the Nazi Party “25 year service to the Nazi Party; long service award” medal for the male lead from the props provided by the Czech prop company, with a swastika in the middle and an eagle. Very shiny and bling, very golden. You can see the actor wear it in the still at the stills link above. In fact, since it is a part of his royal uniform, the male lead wears it in every single scene. Makes perfect sense: the original (not Nazi version) swastika features on some Korean military uniforms etc.
Like: I understand every single decision that was taken here, but the result ends up being really cringe.
My guess (and hope) is that Disney+ will have the medal edited to change it in all scenes before releasing the series.
