Before even listing to songs if it says 2:30 it’s immediate complainant and whining. Without seeing how any other aspect of the song does you just jump to whine because apparently all that’s important is song length? Not lyrics, structure, instrumental or anything else???
It’s so dumb because what you want is bridges aka the usual song structure that can be achieved in under 3 minutes. It’s so repetitive because even songs that are more meaningful when short will get this same criticism and it makes me wonder…is this what you all think caring about art is?
I’ve always thought the whole “authenticity” thing K-pop stans love to parade is useless but seeing some you try to limit and give guidelines for what an artist should do to be considered authentic and truly genuine is so odd. A song being 5 minutes does not guarantee quality or anything in all honesty. Short songs can have some of the most intricate and developed instrumentals but choosing to just ignore that simply cause it’s short is more harmful to art. Telling people they don’t care artistry because all you care about is duration? Please.
Do y’all go to digital one page comic artists and deny their artistry cause it’s not long enough? No shade but duration is prolly on of the most overrated things in music. Because it’s being long doesn’t guarantee the quality. There are songs (imo) whose bridges are a flavourless chorus then another flavourless chorus with highnotes to end it…but oh it’s 4 minutes so it’s peak music…?
