Corn Cheese tastes like Corn and Cheese

OK! I know the title is silly, but I genuinely cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong! I love Korean corn cheese when I go to KBBQ or Korean restaurants the corn cheese is SO good! It has such an amazing savory slightly sweet taste. Of course I’ve googled recipes and TRIED to replicate them (I’m a competent cook) but no matter what I CANNOT replicate the savory taste it has?! Idk what I’m doing wrong! My corn tastes like corn + cheese literally. They don’t mesh well, you can taste each ingredient individually rather than together. Whereas when I go out, the taste is entirely different, unique, and the flavors combine! Has anyone else had this issue and figured it out?

Ingredients: sweet corn, mozz. cheese, sugar, kewpie mayo?! Idk what I am possibly doing wrong to entirely miss the flavor profile 😩
