I hope you guys don’t take this as me being a hater or anything like that, because I love Seokjin so much as a person and the sheer dedication he has to always make his fans happy is so heartwarming. However, something that’s always bothered me quite a bit about his stage performances is the fact that somehow he always sounds like he strains his voice TOO much. You know how some of the best vocalists always make it look effortless, but with him, I always feel like he struggles so much to sound good. And that happens in quite a bit of his vocal performances, although during others he seems pretty stable (ex. ‘Come Back Home’) but those are not pretty often.
I think he plays an important role in BTS, but when it comes to some of his solo vocal performances, he seems to be lacking quite a bit and his voice more often than not sounds too strained. With the release of his solo album, I feel like this issue has been highlighted once again. I just… can’t seem to enjoy his music at all because of his singing style.
