Visiting Korea as a Dual Citizen

Hello, I (30) am planning on visiting Korea next year. I just found out I’m a dual citizen (born in the US), and I have my Korean name on my family’s registry. I currently have a US passport and have never had a Korean passport. I was told that there’s a chance I might get drafted if I were to step foot in Korea.

However, I was curious how Korean Immigration would be able to make the connection between my American name and Korean name. The only thing they have is my Korean name. I did live in Korea for about 4 years after I was born but came back to the US. I know they take fingerprints and facial scans at airports, but to my knowledge, Korea doesn’t take fingerprints of minors or any kind of biometric data. How would they make a connection based on my US passport alone? The last time I visited Korea was in ’08 (~14 y/o) with my parents with my US passport.

Has anyone else visited Korea under the same circumstances?
