Song Reviews:: 2024 December 12 – December 15; Battle of the B-Sides:: B.A.P- Carnival

Welcome, welcome, all!

Some brief housekeeping I feel I need to clarify. I’ve seen a number of complaints on here (not on my posts, but on others) about how often certain companies get mentioned, for whatever reason, and the lack of discussion around smaller companies’ groups, which is part of why I’ve been posting the reviews here. I like a lot of smaller groups. I want to talk about them, and the more we talk about them, the more they’re preserved even a little on the internet and the more likely someone will discover them and tumble head-over heels in love with them. I don’t want them forgotten, because a lot of their music is as good or better than what we get out of the other companies, but without the attention. So I’m seeing a need and I’m trying to fill it, and that’s also what I’m trying to do with the Battle of the B-Sides and Greatest Hits posts. I want to talk about older music, and I want to let the fans of those groups know that the older music hasn’t been forgotten, and maybe introduce others to music they didn’t know existed. The dopamine hit I get from the views on my posts isn’t enough of a reason for me to write them. If I want the dopamine, I can post my video game fanfiction. I’m doing most of these reviews because I want to write the reviews for myself as I enjoy writing analyses, and I’m sharing them because of the need to talk about the smaller groups that I’ve been seeing. So that’s why I’m posting these here.

Music! The Battle of the B-Sides segment comes straight from the B.A.P fandom when I shared the Greatest Hits for Feel So Good with them. It’s a very happy song, and I’m glad they introduced it to me in this way. Any songs you’d like to add for this, the submission form can also be found on the left-hand side of the blog as well as in the Junk Drawer. I’m thinking you all might get a Girl’s Generation song next time, mostly because I found a music video and half fell in love, unless someone has a better suggestion.

The Artist A-Z is also now open and located in the Junk Drawer. It’s neither extensive nor complete yet, but much like everything, the construction dust will eventually settle and then it will just be updated.

Even if you don’t look at my review for L5ST, go check out the MV. I love it. They seriously remind me of BTOB, and they were all 21 or older at debut.

I also did Song’s solo debut back from March because I wanted to do it. It’s a great song.

Thank you all for your time and attention! You’re amazing! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Younite did a cover of EXO’s First Snow for their 1000 day anniversary! Congrats to them! And also, it’s a good cover.

I missed some debuts the first half of the month. I haven’t listened to them yet. I have no idea what they sound like or just about anything about them. But I may do a review of one or some or all of them assuming I can survive the next week at work. Nakwon is a soloist (I think?) who debuted Dec 4th with NAH BEE. T:EV is a boy group trio which debuted Dec 6th, a very popular day, with The Story of Our Summer Day. Irubin, a former member of a boy group which lasted two years and disbanded in 2021, debuted as a soloist with Foolproof on Dec 11th. Also on Dec 11, another soloist by the name of DaFF debuted with the song ZOMBIE.

Fun fact for the Day: The pea and lentil capital of the world is located in the Palouse region of the USA (which includes parts of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.)
