If my calculations are correct, I’m excited for the next few years of music in kpop!

I just now realized a pattern in some music trends and if I’m gonna be so happy if it continues

A few years ago, we had songs like Everglow’s LADIDA, Rocket Punch’s Ring Ring, and Sunmi’s You Can’t Sit With Us. It was very obvious at the time that the trend was 80’s inspired music

This year, we had Newjeans’s Supernatural, Young Posse’s Ate That, and even SKZ’s Bye Bye Bye x Chk Chk Boom remix, which all take influence from 90s music, along with the early 2000s y2k visual aesthetic trending

Now, being born in 2005, the music I grew up with comes from the late 2000s/early 2010s, so for my Americans think Taio Cruz’s Dynamite, Party Rock Anthem, etc. I also grew up on the internet so I also had stuff like Alan Walker’s Spectre and Tobu’s Candyland.

Since after 80s inspired music came 90s and early 2000s, I think it’s safe to assume that we’re gonna be nostalgia baited with stuff from the next decade soon! At least I’m hoping really hard for it

It’s not impossible to bring those sounds to kpop, either, since the royalty free YouTube music been done before by my queens Majors with Dancing in the Starlit Night and Giddy Up, so I’m crossing my fingers for more of it to come in the future!
