I am writing a novel and while Google translate and ChatGPT have been helpful so far, I want to make sure I am not writing nonsensical dialogue hah. Especially when it’s more conversational than formal. ChatGPT has been great when I’ve been able to ask questions like “what would an older Korean woman endearingly call a younger woman who is not part of her family” and things like that, but when writing dialogue it’s been a little harder.
For example, there is a scene where a woman says “it’s okay” and then “slowly” after, with actions in between, and those two words are easy enough to drop into Google translate, but when you put those two words together as “it’s okay, slowly”, the translation changes.
I was just wondering if there was someone on here fluent in Korean who could read through some things for me and make sure that I am not offending anyone with dodgy translations. 🙂
It shouldn’t be too much, as there’s just a few words and sentences I need help with. Also happy to credit whomever helps. 😀
Please DM me and I can shoot it through.
TIA.
