
Shares of SAMG Entertainment, the animation studio behind the popular Teenieping franchise, surged on Friday after Blackpink member Lisa shared photos of Hachuping merchandise on her Instagram account.
SAMG stock closed up 20.08% at 62,200 won on the KOSDAQ, after briefly soaring as much as 25.29% to 64,900 won earlier in the day.
Lisa posted several photos on Thursday showing herself using a Hachuping-themed phone grip. Hachuping is a character from Catch! Teenieping, a children’s animation series produced by SAMG. With over 100 million Instagram followers, Lisa’s post sparked a wave of investor enthusiasm, as traders bet on the promotional impact of her global influence.
SAMG, producer of the children’s animation Hachuping of Love, is expected to turn profitable this year. According to financial data provider FnGuide, the company’s operating profit is forecast at 26 billion won, compared with a loss last year. Revenue is projected to rise 26.1% to 146.8 billion won.
Kim Aram, an analyst at Shinhan Investment & Securities, noted that “Season 6 of Catch! Teenieping is set to premiere on October 30, with Season 5 to be released on Chinese OTT platforms later this year.” She added that “collaborations with SM idols and an expanding merchandise lineup provide ample momentum for further stock gains.”
