Being an adult K-pop fan feels different…

As a (22y/o) K-pop stan, I’m starting to realize that I don’t like K-pop like I used to.

– Every day I wake to a new controversy from an idol/group.

– All music is starting to sound the same, and no group has an original concept anymore.

– K-pop was way more fun when it wasn’t globalized, and companies realized they can squeeze all of the fans’ money.

– Also not to mention that all of my favorite groups have disbanded or have no hope of a comeback anytime soon. I cannot remember the last time I was excited for a group’s comeback.

– So many groups are being debuted these days that at this point the market is so saturated, and nothing/nobody seems as interesting anymore.

I still like K-pop because I guess that I’m holding on to the 2nd/3rd gen groups that I loved when I was 11-17. To be honest, it feels like K-pop stopped being fun after 2019.
