I’ve been following Hearts2Hearts for a while, and I’ve noticed something interesting.
They seem to be focusing a lot more on fansigns and fanmeets early in their debut rather than appearing on variety shows, talk shows, or more mainstream reality content.
Actually they do have their own reality show, but it’s exclusive to a certain platform, not something easily accessible like YouTube or broadcast TV which is there’s a lot of casual viewers.
They do have some content on their YouTube channel to help people get to know them, but i don’t really count that, since it’s mostly fans or people who already know about them.
From what I’ve seen, fans are really eager to see them perform live, and I honestly think if SM gave them a proper stage or featured them on a good show where they can show off their vocal skills, they’d attract a lot of new fans almost instantly. People are curious about their actual talent especially they’re from SM.
That made me curious, is focusing on fansigns a smarter way to build a dedicated fanbase at the start?
I get the point probably fansigns offer that personal, face-to-face connection that builds loyalty quickly. But at the same time, variety shows, talk shows, or more mainstream reality content are where you get mass exposure and the chance to let people see your personality, humor, and skills.
So is this a budget/image decision, or more of a strategy to build a strong core fandom first before reaching the general public?
Curious to hear what others think, do you think this approach works better for rookies?
