The leaks have certainly stirred the fandom and well… it’s not getting good reception.
A lot of people on the neutral sub are saying that HYBE/Geffen is prioritising Virality over Talent. Infact, the main criticism that most people are agreeing with, is that “the girls are too talented for the the songs they are getting.”
IN MY OPINION:
●They are trying to focus on the Hyper-pop genre. And it’s a good thing. Hyper-pop and dance heavy tracks have their own huge markets and if Katseye manages to crack the code, then they could become the ‘Face of Hyper-pop’ for girl groups.
● High energy, dance focused and performance based, easy lyrics and edm heavy songs are very Good for concerts and festivals. If pinky up manages to deliver, then it could be the highlight of their performance.
● Performance based, high energy tracks are the easiest way to win over a croud who may not know KATSEYE yet. It would be especially good for festivals considering the crowd consists mainly of fans of different genres and artists.
