One of my favorite things to do in the main kpop sub is to browse the MV tag and listen to any recent release that doesn’t or barely pass the 100/200 upvotes and see if I vibe with the artists. You would be surprised how many underrated artists (at least internationally, not familiar with their popularity in Korea) made some of my favorite kpop releases.
So today I wanted to gush about these releases and artists that no one here know but I personally loved:
- SAAY: I am cheating a little with her because she is NOT unpopular as a producer (worked with Aespa, Twice, Baekhyun…) but imo her personal music is widly underappreciated, her music is simply amazing and I beg you to listen to Encore, Jaam, Rainbow Car, ZGZG or Overzone (listen to all her songs, really…)
- Itzel: the most recent artist I discovered like that. Her song TMM piqued my curiosity and I fell in love with the rest of her discography. My favorites are New Birth, Dreaming of the Days and Universe
- Suyo: I was actually baffled by how good her songs were, discovered her with We Fall In (favorite song of her), also loved Misty Road, Self Satisfaction, Dear. Jenny
- Milena: discovered her with Night Train and I am weak for any bossa nova adjacent music, other songs I loved were Matter of Taste, Sweet Rain, Sugardance, Sweet Sour legacy, No Jam
- Hoody: she is the most known for her collabration with other singers (like Crush) which is too bad because I love her solo music the most, favorites songs are The Star, MIRO, Perfect Timing, Sailing
- Jiselle: discovered with Only U (a collab with Moon Sujin) which is to this day ma favorite release of her, I also liked Ready 2 Go, Therapy, Missed Calls and Problem
- CHEEZE: discovered her with Romance that I loved, I haven’t yet explored all her discography, but also liked How Do You Think
And that’s all. Just wanted to share some music I loved, feel free to do the same!
