I really wanted to ask this question especially from the perspective of Korean fans or people who live in Korea.
We all know the controversy involving Mark and his Confederate Flag shirt, which caused a lot of backlash and outrage, especially for international fans, given the overall historical and racial context of the symbol in the US and the fact that he has a Canadian and American background.
But I’m really curious on how this whole controversy is being viewed in Korea or among Korean netizens in general.
I know that Korea has a lot of far-right conservative backgrounds, and I did hear that there are some areas there that actually do sell stuff with the flag on it or the flag itself, so I did see discussions that people might think that Knetz actually are “defending him ” because of that. I also saw some discussions that Korea simply just “doesn’t know” about the significance of the flag’s meaning.
I did go on Pannchoa about the controversy and I did see a lot of comments from knetz about it, and it turns out that they do know the overall significance of what the flag means , and also criticizing him as well, but at the same time Pannchoa is just one majority, and I don’t know what other Knetz outside of Pann think about this whole issue
So I guess my question is:
How has this situation been perceived in Korea, especially in other Korean media sites aside from Pann
Do Korean audiences generally see this as seriously as international fans do, or is the reaction more mixed/nuanced depending on context?
