Can Korea continue to be a strategic partner in the U.S. supply chain?

The Korean automotive market has long been dominated by domestic brands. However, there has been a significant change recently. In May of this year, for the first time in history, an imported car took the top spot in monthly sales in Korea, and the star of the show was none other than Tesla’s Model Y. Although the United States currently faces a large trade deficit in the automotive sector with Korea, this trend is expected to gradually fade.

Meanwhile, Korean companies are supplying various components to Tesla. Beyond automobiles, Korea is collaborating with the United States in diverse manufacturing sectors, including semiconductors, electronics, batteries, and shipbuilding.

How do you think the restructuring of the U.S. supply chain will affect Korea? In what direction do you think industrial cooperation between the U.S. and Korea will proceed?
