Seaweed flakes or seaweed sheets/snacks?

If I’m looking for a topping for rice or to make rice balls, is it worth it buying the seaweed flakes that are pre-crumbled/shredded or do most home cooks just crumble the snack sheets? Which is the more economical option? I probably wouldn’t use it daily but a few times a week is likely.
