Do people really have to do the fan chants and sing along at concerts?

I’m going to my first ever BTS concert with my mom and we’re not the type of people who sing along to music nor dance to it (my mom does that with Spanish music only). We want to hear the artists voice, we want to see them perform what they created for people to enjoy in their own way. I want to record the concert cause I know my memory is not that good to remember the fine details so I want a recording to look back to later on.

Like watch the concert while I hold the phone under my neck or something so it’s not blocking my view. As my mom and I want to hear their voices (I know we’ll hear the rest of the crowd doing everything else and that’ll be fun to experience in the moment. My mom and I just don’t want to do it ourselves).

We don’t plan on getting merch nor a lightstick cause all that is expensive. But I always read on Reddit, Twitter, Tiktok and Instagram comments people saying mean things about people who don’t sing along or do the fan chants. Things like why did they even go to the concert if they weren’t going to dance and jump to the music and etc.

Honestly, there’s people who don’t scream, dance, or sing along at concerts for their own reasons. Just like others don’t do that while listening to music at home or in the car. Everyone shows their excitement differently and that’s okay to me. Just want to know if anyone else kind of thinks like me?
