Using seawood soaking liquid

I’m making miyeok-muchim (sweet & sour seaweed salad) and wondered if I could use the soaking liquid from the seaweed instead of vegetable broth in this vegan recipe for doenjang jjigae? My family can’t get enough of that seaweed salad so I often have the liquid.
