Lily is well known for her incredible ease while belting in the 5th octave, as well as an impressive head voice. She’s got the dynamics down. Placement and projection are great. It’s clear why she is labeled as the best 4th gen vocal. What I don’t get is, what makes her better than her member, Haewon. I genuinely wanna know. While Haewon doesn’t effortlessly glide through the 5th octave like Lily does, her mid-range is ong one of the best I’ve heard in a long time. She devours G#4-C5 and occasionally C#5/D5. She also shows a lot of potential for further developing her head voice (having supported up to F#5 at her best), although it’s not as developed as Lily’s. I believe she does better than Lily when it comes to her lower register, her chest voice, agility, and fullness. Not by a mile in everything though. Her placement is often surprisingly close to perfect, and I don’t think it’d be long before we see her resonate in the A4-C5 area (I’m a firm believer she’ll be the first one of her gen to achieve it). So to conclude, they have vastly different strengths and weaknesses, so what exactly is used to determine that Lily is better?
