Mixed feelings: Loving KiiiKiii’s new music but struggling to support them openly

Hi. Please let me know if this post violates any rules or if I should use a different flair. I’m happy to make any necessary adjustments.

I’ve been listening to KiiiKiii’s new tracks, “404” and “Delulu,” and they sound incredible on headphones. LDN Noise, who worked on my favorite f(x) tracks like “4 Walls” and “12:25 (Wish List),” delivered some seriously polished UK Garage vibes this time. It also feels a bit closer to the style of the Japanese indie idol group HiiT FACTORY, which I love.

However, I have mixed feelings. Some of the members’ careless remarks and the way they referenced Kiki’s Delivery Service in their lyrics and visuals bother me. Because of that, I don’t feel comfortable openly promoting them or buying physical CDs to contribute to HANTEO charts. I think I’ll just stick to buying the high-quality digital versions at Qobuz and supporting them quietly on my own.

Does anyone else deal with this kind of internal conflict? I’m interested in hearing from others who are in a similar position or who can relate to this mindset. I’d love to know how you navigate these feelings and if you have any suggestions on how to support a group in a way that feels right to you.
