I don’t even know where to start because I am clearly in the minority here. I just want you guys to understand. I’m not trying to change anybody’s mind. The only reason I’m stating my opinion is because you need to understand where I’m coming from in order to answer my question. I am a relative newcomer to K-pop, only discovered what it’s all about a few months ago. Along with absolutely beautiful music that answers all of my needs, including whimsy and theatrics and huge amount of content, all very welcoming. What I absolutely cannot stand is what I discovered is called shipping. I find it performative, distasteful, completely unnecessary, and frankly evil. Cannot believe these talented young people besides dedicating their life to their craft have to engage in this behavior for the viewing pleasure of their audience. No, I don’t believe these feelings on display are genuine and it bothers me that they are forced or encouraged to put this additional show on for the fans. And finally, here is my question, are there any groups that don’t engage in this behavior? I don’t mind display of friendship at all and I do favor boy groups.
