I saw their golden performance, it was amazing, all girls sings quite well, though ppl praise it but still some ppl love to nitpick, especially ahyeon, idk why ppl put her on totally different standard or they just hate her?
i have been following her and group since last pre-debut, saw them live (which was great) and yeah at some point ahyeon needed improvement and she shown significant improvement this year, which obviously get overlooked by stans (but i think ppl who follow them notice same) and i was excited to see her in this performance
her vocal tone might not be everyone’s favorite but She seriously did good throughout the song, except last note, but i don’t think that last note needs to get more attention when she did amazing throughout the show, it feels so force to drag her over 1 sec. thing…..and I think this is one of the reason why live singing in k-pop become such a rare thing and lip syncing is more normalize, we all want to see idols hell perfect on camera but then complain why things like “lip syncing”, “miming”, “toxic beauty standards” are being so normalize in industry
i still saw ppl saying, “she will destroy her vocal chords”, “she was screaming” etc. etc…..I want to remind everyone, this song was never meant to sing Live on original key, the original singer herself stated the high notes are unnatural in this song, so its fun to see how singers are trying and coming out of their comfort zone…..considering all of this Ahyeon or Babymonster did amazing job, i didn’t expect them to be perfect but they were better than i expected
at the end i feel she genuinely deserve praise this time, knowing how much criticism she get in past
