no but how do they all have sanrio characters that match them so well.
jokes aside, i’m typically not the most into the cute bubbly colorful concept (i love a lot of songs with this concept but i’ve probably never looped one before or listen to it more than once in a month or something). so i was a bit dissapointed when i saw they were coming out with PPUU, especially cuz i was really anticipating what they’ll come back with after Dash. so i’ve more a less ignored the song these past 2 weeks.
randomly though, the more shorts and reels of the song i saw, the more i felt inclined to check it out, and i finally caved this weekend and wow. i don’t know enough cute songs that feel this.. refreshing. that don’t feel overly happy despite being positive, or really high-pitched despite being cute, and that don’t exhaust me after a single listen, despite still liking the song. like Pump Up the Volume, or nmixx’s Blue Valentine or loona’s Hi High, i love them so much but somehow i feel like i’ve exerted energy after listening lol. like it’s really excitable. but this feels more like songs i struggle with finding more of, like POW’s Being Tender, that just make me feel like i’m resting when i’m listening. it’s probably the first time i’m encountering a song with that same vibe that’s this cute though.
for PPUU, i love it so much cuz the inflections aren’t so extreme, the melody is soothing, they’re kind of whispering instead of singing loudly/projecting, yet it’s definitely not a ballad or melody or something that’s supposed to make you feel big emotions, it’s just… like taking a deep breath after seeing a pretty sunset on the bus home after a long day of work. something like that. and the MV is really colorful and adorable, but it’s also more reminiscent of a dream since everything is so calm (and since it’s literally them in a dream lol). the dance practice though, is what pushed me to make this post. it’s so fun ! and it’s so… chill ! the wheelies !!! the whole thing has such a chill vibe to it, despite being really happy so i just keep looping it over and over. plave keeps surprising me, but i can say confidently that they’ve yet to dissapoint me.
