Twice’s Tzuyu just got one heck of a homecoming

in Community, Feeds

And holy fuck, does she deserve it.

Twice recently performed in Tzuyu’s homeland for the first time in 10 years! Day 1 is done, and they have another show today.

It’s been a really, really long time coming. Tzuyu used to make a secret wish every year during her birthday vlives – and after the Kaohsiung concert was announced, she finally revealed that the wish was for Twice to hold a concert in Taiwan.

Some context for why the topic of Taiwan and China has always been dangerous for Twice. This is why it’s taken so long.

Anyway, the city of Kaohsiung went HARD preparing for and celebrating this:

Fans visited temples to pray for good luck with tickets
Recordings of Twice were used to announce trains on the metro
Pedestrian traffic light crossings became Twice-themed
Major landmarks were lit up blue (the theme colour for Twice’s This is For tour is blue)

Lai Ching Te (Taiwanese president) even gave them a welcome shoutout on the news!

Obviously, she should never have had to wait this long, but holy shit- imagine how great it must feel to be Tzuyu (and Twice) right now.

Fuck, I’m so happy for her and for the Taiwanese onces who have waited 10 years. 🥲 I was lowkey losing hope that it would ever happen.
