Blackpink is back in the studio — and the wait is almost over.
The K-pop juggernaut is fine-tuning its long-awaited comeback album, marking the group’s first full-length release in more than three years. YG Entertainment confirmed that the project is now in its final stages, hinting that new music is just around the corner.
“The album is in the final stages of completion to ensure the highest musical quality,” the agency said Thursday. “Once everything is ready, we’ll share the good news through official promotions.”
Industry insiders say the comeback, initially expected in December, has been pushed to January to give the quartet more time to perfect both the sound and visuals of their next era. The new release will follow Born Pink, their 2022 sophomore album that topped charts around the world and cemented Blackpink’s global status.
Last month, Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé were spotted filming a new music video, sending fans into a frenzy online. Their return as a complete act comes after a stretch of blockbuster solo projects, luxury brand partnerships and headline-making world-tour stops.
Blackpink is currently in the middle of their Deadline world tour. The group kicked things off in Goyang, South Korea, in July before packing stadiums across North America and Europe. They launched the Asia leg in Taiwan on Oct. 18, with more cities soon to follow.
