So I don’t know if the title makes sense. It’s something I’m kinda curious about but could hardly find an answer on Internet. In China, there’s 56 ethnic groups, one of them being the Joseon ethnic group (minor group). Of what I know, most Chinese ethnic groups preserve both their languages and cultures. Many Joseon people would thus also speak Korean, though due to their geography (as most Joseon ethnic citizens reside in the north-eastern provinces of China that borders North Korea), their accent and speech may sound like North Koreans. However, as they are also Chinese citizens, their language may also have Chinese influences. How much influence there is is not something I know of, but it may change the way they speak and write Korean. My question would be, for any South Koreans who have encountered such people, do you guys understand what they’re saying? Can you understand what they write? If there is an equivalent in English, how does it feel like hearing them? My rough guess would be that there’s no problem in communication, but I’m not so sure about writings
