The KPop Demon Hunters original soundtrack is rewriting chart history in the United States.
Golden, the breakout anthem from Netflix’s animated feature, has clinched the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for the sixth time, Billboard reported Monday. The track not only retained the crown from the previous week but also extended its run to 13 consecutive weeks on the chart, including five straight at the summit.
That streak is making history. According to Billboard, Golden has become the longest-running No. 1 single ever performed by an animated character — a milestone that underscores just how far K-pop’s cultural reach has extended.
The Hot 100 ranks songs based on a weighted blend of U.S. streaming activity, radio airplay and sales. During the latest tracking week, Golden posted 32.1 million streams (down 5% from the prior week), 30.6 million radio impressions (up 16%), and 7,000 sales (down 6%).
The single also maintained its dominance across multiple Billboard rankings — topping the Streaming Songs chart for a ninth consecutive week, while placing No. 16 on Radio Songs and No. 2 on Digital Song Sales.
Golden isn’t the only hit from the soundtrack. Three other songs cracked the Hot 100’s Top 10 this week: Soda Pop at No. 5, Your Idol at No. 6, and How It’s Done at No. 10.
In total, four tracks from the soundtrack are now simultaneously in the chart’s upper tier — a rare feat underscoring the global momentum of K-pop soundtracks.
