The original soundtrack (OST) to Netflix’s animated feature K-pop Demon Hunters has held its No. 2 position on the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week, while its lead single Golden” is making a strong bid for the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

Billboard’s Aug. 16 Billboard 200 Top 10 preview, released Sunday, shows the K-pop Demon Hunters OST matching last week’s peak at No. 2. Weekly sales rose 7% to 100,000 units — the album’s best yet. Since its debut in the chart’s Top 10, sales have grown every week for six straight weeks, bringing cumulative sales to 535,000 units.

Golden, the album’s flagship track, placed No. 2 on the Hot 100 last week and now looks poised to capture the top spot. Chart analysis site Talk of the Charts forecasts a strong chance of it reaching No. 1 — a feat that would mark a milestone for both K-pop and animated film soundtracks.

The momentum extends beyond Golden. Other OST tracks are also climbing the singles chart: Your Idol by Saja Boys is projected to land at No. 6, Soda Pop at No. 13, and How It’s Done by Huntrix at No. 17. If Golden takes the Hot 100 crown, it will be the first time a K-pop song and an animated movie soundtrack have simultaneously topped charts on the global stage.
