Here’s the interview link, I highly recommend reading this incredible article.
I am typically a purposefully disconnected casual listener type of fan, always harboring an emotional distance with the artists I follow. I truly try to perceive them as close to how I would want to be viewed and perceived: as a regular person. I don’t like obsessing or infantilizing or over centering any celebrity in my life.
Having said all that. I must say, after reading this interview, I have come to truly and sincerely admire Seunghan, as an artist and as a person. He’s a great a role model!
Seeing him who went through a public witch hunt like that and still managed to keep going, never faltering in his willingness to persevere, to take on life little by little and day by day and never lose his smile is so encouraging. It makes me look at my own problems and struggles and feel like if he could do it, I definitely can to!
Back in October, it felt like everything about his situation lacked humanity, but keeping up with him these past 8 months has me thinking how vividly he embodies the human spirit. He is unrelenting!
In regards to his artistry, it truly is so lovely, especially in kpop, to see someone with such passion for MUSIC! He’s said he studies music, researches it, and is working on composing and writing a full album one day. A passion like that cannot be taught by the kpop trainee regiment.
I’m happy to be his fan, I hope he only walks a blissful path from now on.
Interview Highlight for me:
“He knows who he is:…Strong…Healthy…[and after laughing]…Crazy for music!”
